David Monteleone, Week 5 Journal PPJ, Blog post 5, GMAP 378

Content with Hours (Examples included):
First, I was tasked with adding in art to the two micro games that I’m responsible for. I added in a tent background, cardboard cutout waves, and a water gun to the Water Gun game. The games seems good to go for art work. It simply need some more balancing. After that I went through both of my two games and added in Angela’s new UI design for the HUD. I also went ahead and changed the UI for all 5 of last quarter’s games to this new design. An example of the UI and the art I added to my games can be seen below:

My main task for this week was to edit the GDD for the 02 submission. There were a significant number of comments that Professor Lloyd had for our 01 submission. I went through and added the content and made the structural changes that he asked for. These changes include: Making the section headers bolder, adding sub categories to the ToC, adding in a section that lists potential game ideas, adding in concept art sub sections to the appendix, removing the extra music license entry, adding a target demographic and marketing section, updating most figures and screenshots to reflect the new UI (as seen above), adding in the new flowchart to represent the new gameplay, and of course adding in subsections and content for each of the new mini games that we developed (8 new games added!). The GDD is still in great shape and continues to be one of the team’s main strong points because of my efforts on fixing and editing it! The hardest part about updating the content is finding all of the people that know how each micro game functions.
